How to Configure Your Insight Email Client
Windows Mail
(For Windows Vista and Windows 7 only)

In order to configure your Vista Windows Mail client (formerly known as Outlook Express) for use with your insightbb.com e-mail account(s), please follow the steps below:

1. Open Windows Mail, and from the Tools menu, select Accounts.

2. Click the Add button.

3. Next, select E-mail Account, then click Next.

4. Enter your Display Name: (this is the name that your recipients will see in the "From" field of e-mails that you send), then click Next.

5. Enter your complete e-mail address and click Next.

6. Select POP3 as Incoming e-mail server type.

Incoming mail server: mail.insightbb.com
Outgoing mail server: mail.insightbb.com

Click Next.

7. Enter your complete e-mail address in the E-mail username field and your e-mail account password in the Password field.

8. Click Next, then Finish. 

9. Click Close.
Configuring E-mail Account in Outlook Express
(Outlook Express is for Windows 2000, XP only)

1. Click on the Outlook Express icon on the desktop, or click each of these choices in the following sequence: Start, Programs, Outlook Express.

2. Click Tools, and then click Accounts in the drop-down menu that appears:

3. Click the Mail tab. Highlight the mail account by clicking it, and then click the Properties button on the right side of the screen.

4. The General tab automatically displays. Confirm that the following entries are filled in appropriately:

   Name: A name must be displayed here, which will be shown in outgoing e-mails.

   E-mail address: Enter your e-mail address here (example: username@insightbb.com).

5. Click the Servers tab. Make sure that the following fields have these entries:

· Incoming mail (POP3): mail.insightbb.com

· Outgoing mail (SMTP): mail.insightbb.com

· Account name: username (this is the name before the @insightbb.com)

· Password: ****** (this shows up as asterisks)

· Remember password: -optional- (Do not use this setting on a shared or public computer)

6. Click the Connection tab. If you only check your e-mail when connected at home to your cable modem, you can check the Always connect to this account using checkbox, and select Local Area Network in the drop-down box. DO NOT select this if you will be checking Insight Broadband e-mail with this computer through a dial-up connection at times (example: this computer is a laptop, and you travel with this computer).

7. Click the Advanced tab at the top. Make sure that the following entries are correct:

· Outgoing mail (SMTP): 25

· Incoming mail (POP3): 110

· Server Timeouts: Slide the time bar to show one minute.

· Leave a copy of messages on server checkbox: Make sure it is NOT checked.

8. If any changes were made, make sure to click Apply, and then click OK.
